Hop-hop-hopping toward me, Missy Moo is missing her pants and undies. Suddenly, she jump-spins around, and sticks her butt out. She has a big piece of toilet paper trapped between her cheeks. "Guess what animal I am!"

Walking through the mall together, Missy Moo was holding my hand, while the Littlest Lord rode in the stroller. We passed a little boy probably between 18-24 months old. The little boy pointed at the Littlest Lord and yelled "Baby!". Missy Moo turned around and glared at the little boy, yelled "HAY! I'm NOT a BABAY!"

After sending a few employees to the back to check if they had our chosen carseat in different fabrics, we settled on a teddy-bear brown fabric.
Missy Moo: Dey don't have it in pink?
Me: No, sorry Moo. They checked.
Missy Moo: AAAAAARGH! Dis is my WORST DAY EVAR!
Later, after the carseat was assembled and she was sitting in it so I could adjust the straps...
Missy Moo: You know...Thomas [from Thomas' Snowsuit] didn't like his poopy-bwown snowsuit. But I like my poopy-bwown new carseat.

Finally, Missy Moo is snuggled in bed, singing her Ponies to sleep...

Missy Moo knows her own mind and it is a pleasure for us to get glimpse of how the internal parts arrive at such conclusions. Your handsome hubby was of the same mindset when we bought our Grand Marquis & his granmother knitted his brown socks. He would not wear the socks no matter how warm they were because they were poop socks. When we bought the Grand Marquis ,the girls loved the car ,but he looked at it and the brown colour and flatly declared poopy looking ,Yuk. He always called it the poopy car. Don't think he felt as bad about that though as he did when he was 17 and we bought the Windstar van instead of a sports car that he wanted to buy. He just couldn't get his parents to buy vehicles that he wanted when he was growing up. It humours me to no end to see him buckling up his own family in that beautiful large van that he bought for his family. He is now a dad making the same choices his mom & dad made for his life when he was a youngin. Wink. Than again I think he was just as disappointed to find out that he couldn't grow up and have his own best buddy panther cat like He-Man had.
ReplyDeleteBest. Comment. EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery time handsome hubby lets on he isn't stubborn & wonders where the kids get their stubborn streak just think about poopy car & the Windstar and you will get a have a good rebuttal for him. His sisters were stubborn to but they were also pragmatists . Handsome hubby was much slower to anger and get his back up but he was an imovable object when riled far enough. He could make a mule look like a reasonable animal when he dug in his feet. Ask him about the Grand Marquis today and he will tell you how he hated that poopy car or the Windstar. Yet both were very good vehicles that gave us a lot of quality family time together. He is getting the same gratification from his supersized van which has made so many trips filled with gifts to your families & gifts back to your home . He has learned the value system that parents must value above all others.
ReplyDeletelol, yeah what Donnie Said...the little royal nibisus's are learning, more now than they ever will again within a given time frame. Attitudes are formed, and peek previews of what lies ahead become known. I love, just love a stubborn opinionated child, we had three, I was always amused and never bored. It is like getting a glimpse of your own childhood, and realizing perhaps for the first time, just what it is that parents see and do as the little buds grow. The lessons will take, the roots will be straight and strong. You will both wonder from time to time if you are getting it right, stop wondering, just follow your hearts. they are good hearts.
